Upcoming Work-in-Progress Showing
September 8-9, 2012
138 Willoughby St. Brooklyn, NY 11201

TJ hasn't been giving away dance recitals anywhere this summer.  In prep for any potential recitals, he will be developing a new piece entitled The Wrestler's Wrestler.  This piece explores man's fascination with machismo as a motivator for movement and combative perception of space.  Through a series of exercise experiments TJ draws the attention of his own virility and the audience's eye to his Fisherian runaway.  The experiments aim to convey the multiple readings of manhood as powerful, present, ubiquitous, vulnerable, soft and encompassing.  The showing is free and open to the public, facilitated by Brooklyn Museum's GO project, September 8-9, 2012.  https://www.gobrooklynart.org/studio/T.J.

Corinne Cappelletti

Announcing Choreographic Mentor: Corinne Cappelletti

The 0h10s asked and CoCap accepted. In a move to make the wrestling process more supple and graceful, it was necessary to find someone to continuously question and advise on the work. Immediately thought of Rinne and am so pleased that she has agreed to help as the choreographic mentor. In the past the process of making new work has always felt ascetic or a bit mysterious and though it may continue to be so, it's certain that having someone who has been doing it longer to talk to, will allow a necessary perspective and assist in diving deeper into the questions of making work. Already Cori has been a huge help in our first few meetings and she is valued for her clarity in making work and generosity of spirit. If you do not know about CC's work you can follow-up here:

R0CKAWAY 0H10

0H10 Company Members Head to Rockaway

For their Annual Sunday Tourism August 1-30th, 2012.

0H10M1KE and TJ will be representing Loveland Tigers Class of 1995. The camp held at Rockaway Beach, as part of the Bad Ass Academy will occur every Tuesday and Thursday.  Twice weekly, MMA fighter Vincent Sinclair and Academy instructor Vinetta Anderton will lead the two grapplers, starting with a warm up/stretch, followed by a boot camp style fitness workout that will include kettle bells, ropes, sledge hammers, medicine balls and anvils.  Unlike other area summer camps, this camp is designed to be a well-rounded unique exercise for these artists, where they become exposed to new forms of dance and also a deeper and more comprehensive understanding of their body's workings.

This camp is one of the most rewarding programs the company does each year, and it will culminate with the Rockaway Beach Challenge held the first Saturday after Labor Day. 5 miles of Sand, Sun, Run, Obstacles and Challenges will include balance beams, mario carts, sand bags and word problems, and we will be sure to share with you video and photos upon our return.
